Our Story
The Heart Behind Belle Vie.
Natalie Straley has been a student of hair for 15+ years. That word — student — is intentional.

Fifteen years in
Still chasing the next technique.
After 15+ years behind the chair, most stylists will tell you they've mastered their craft. Natalie will tell you she's still learning. Still chasing the next technique, the next color theory breakthrough, the next way to make a client walk out feeling more like herself than when she walked in.
That mindset is the reason her clients stay with her for years, and it's the reason Belle Vie exists.
The path
From Houma to her own chair.
Natalie grew up in Houma. Like a lot of South Louisiana girls, she knew early that she wanted to do hair — but knowing it and doing it are two different things. She earned her cosmetology license at Champagne's School of Cosmetology, and from the moment she picked up her first pair of shears professionally, she never looked back.
15+ years later, she's still doing what she loves, only now it's in a salon that bears her name and her vision.
A beautiful life
Belle Vie — a beautiful life.
Belle Vie is French for "beautiful life," and Natalie chose the name because it captures everything she wants her salon to stand for. It's not just about beautiful hair. It's about the life that surrounds it — the confidence a client carries out the door, the friendships built over years of standing appointments, the way a good haircut can change how someone shows up for their whole week.
Belle Vie Salon opened its doors in November 2024 at 99 Louis Drive, Houma, LA 70364, and every detail of the space reflects Natalie's belief that a salon should feel like a sanctuary, not a factory. Here, you're not rushed. You're seen.

The partnership
A partnership, not a solo act.
Belle Vie wouldn't exist without the partnership behind it.
Natalie's husband, Woodrow Straley, is the business mind and technology backbone of everything the Straleys have built. By day he's a senior subsea survey engineer working offshore for some of the largest energy companies in the world. The rest of the time, he's running Whoastra Labs LLC — the parent company that houses Royalty Hair Tools, ChairTime, and a growing portfolio of software ventures.
Woody handles the business operations, the books, the strategy, and the vendor relationships that keep Belle Vie and Royalty running smoothly. He's also the lead developer on both ChairTime and Royalty Hair Tools, writing the software and building the systems that let Natalie focus on what she does best — her clients.
It's a rare combination: a working stylist and a working engineer, married for nearly two decades, building businesses together from opposite sides of the same chair.
Home of Royalty Hair Tools
A tool line, born of frustration.
Before Belle Vie, there was Royalty Hair Tools — the proprietary hair tool line Natalie and Woody launched in June 2022. It started the way the best businesses start: with a working stylist frustrated that the tools on the market weren't good enough for her clients. So they built their own.
Natalie brings the stylist's eye — knowing exactly how a tool needs to feel, heat, and perform on real hair. Woody brings the engineering and the business structure to turn those requirements into a real product line. Every Royalty tool is tested on real hair, by a real stylist, on real clients. No marketing gimmicks. No shortcuts.
Today, Belle Vie is the flagship home of the Royalty line — you can see the tools in action, feel the difference in your own hair, and buy them on the spot.
Born in this chair
The ChairTime story.
There's one more thing about Belle Vie most salons can't claim.
For years Woody watched his wife juggle bookings on paper, chase down booth-rent payments, send appointment reminders by hand, and do commission math at the end of every week. He kept asking the same question: why doesn't software exist that actually understands how a salon works?
So he built it.
That tool is ChairTime — a full salon and booth-rent management platform that Woody designed and coded himself, tested and refined inside Belle Vie Salon before it ever launched to the public. Today, ChairTime runs in salons across the country, but it was born in Natalie's chair, solving Natalie's problems first. Every feature exists because a working stylist asked for it, and a working engineer built it.

The foundation
The family behind it all.
Natalie is a wife and a mom of three. Woody is her partner in every sense of the word — in marriage, in parenting, and in business. Their family is the foundation of everything they build. When they aren't running the salon or shipping code, they're with their kids.
Ask Natalie why she does this work, and her answer is simple: she loves people, and she wants to bring the beauty out in every one of them. Not the beauty of a trend or a filter — the beauty that was already there, waiting for someone to see it.
That's Belle Vie. That's the life they've built together.
That's the woman sitting in that chair — and the man making sure the lights stay on, the software keeps running, and the business keeps growing.
